Special offer for hotel guests in the Utrecht area

Usually it’s the preference of your hotel to contact me via email and discuss possibilities to design your discovery tour. Currently my focus is to start tours from Utrecht (south).

The Netherlands is a patchwork of micro cultures and the Dutch landscape reflects just that. Over the last 20 years I’ve guided many visitors and fellow country men through the amazing floodlands, floodplains and polders (reclaimed lands), hidden industrial areas and cute villages.

Why? Because my country is a labyrinth with unclear signs and a stuborn signature. A wrong turn could easily get you on the wrong foot. We just don’t have the time for that, right?

Lek river / Take your time and choose your ferry is a wise choice

I’ll give you a head start

  • Discover Utrecht Province on a day trip car tour led by an experienced guide.
  • Choose from 3 hours to a full days programme and discuss possibilities.
  • Bring your own car (BYOC) and tell me what you have in mind.
  • We travel in a group with 3 to 5 cars maximum.

The city of Utrecht basically is the heart of the Netherlands and a perfect starting point for a day trip to wherever you want to go. Discover the characteristic (and non-touristic) side of the Dutch countryside, coast, industrial areas, villages and towns. Visit a cheese farm, small museum or gallery. Enjoy the endless dykes and amaze yourself about the unreal skies. There’s so much to see if you know where to look.

Coffee break or lunch spot / Brummen ferry across the IJssel river

I offer a variety of routes:

  • Exploring the dykes: four variations, all in two directions
  • Exploring the Veluwe woods, two variations
  • Exploring the Dutch Green Heart, four variations
  • Tailor made to your wish

Why it’s difficult to find your way?

At first glance, the Dutch landscape as seen from the highways might not seem very inviting to discover. That’s a pity because tucked between the cities and roads lies a wealth of countryside waiting to be explored. But where should you begin? What are the must-see spots? Don’t worry and let me be your guide! BYOC and follow along for a fantastic day out!

Dutch Green Heart / Small cities are cute and perfect for a quick visit

Many tourists, visitors and even most Dutch have no clue where to begin. For me it’s easy because I was born with a curious nature and after 57 years I know my way around here.

Basic idea

We can start as a small group (maximum 5 cars) in the Utrecht area. From there, I’ll guide you on different routes based on the weather and road conditions. Simply follow the lead car and enjoy the scenic Dutch country.

Along the way, we may stop at places like a cheese farm, a cozy lunch spot, or for a coffee break. Each team covers its own costs for food and activities. If, for any reason, you need to leave the group or encounter an issue, I’ll provide guidance for your next steps.
